Default Vintage Estes Raven Build

Here is my next vintage build, the Estes Raven, look at the short shock cord.

That shock cord is not long enough for a BT-20 based Wizard, Yankee, or Zinger.

True, I bought tons of kits back then and never used the stock shock cords. I recently found a box full of them and tossed them out.

The worst part about that shock cord, to me, is the thought that someone might want to give model rocketry a try, or a parent might see it as a way to encourage their child's interest in science. Say, I like the looks of this model. They build it stock and it performs as badly as we suspect. Cue disinterest.

I have been real busy, so rocket building has been slow. I finished the Raven, balsa fins treated with 3 coats of Brodak Balsa sealer, rocket received one coat of primer and toped with Old Krylon Glossy black and grey. I did scan everything and will post.
