Question About Estes Engine Hooks
Does anyone know what year Estes switched from their older style engine hook to the new, current style ? Thanks in advance.

The new one shows up in the 1993 catalog shot of the Estes Phantom. I'm not sure if it was around in the late 80's or not.

I vaguely recall seeing them in the 1990-1991 time frame while working at a LHS. There were older kits that still had the "standard" clip, but the newer ones were showing up with the "Art Nouveau" style...

I know it did not happen until after 1990; that is the year I went into a rocketry hiatus until about 2002.
