Hmmmmm, I'll bet you put the fins on backwards. However, PantherJon put the fins on his BSD Thor backwards but, according to him, it still whistles

If you find out, please come back and let us know what the problem is.

I've been trying to snag one of those with no luck.

I will let you all know. But i can not figure out what is wrong. The rocket is put together properly. It is solid and flies true. The whistels worked before i installed them on the whistel fins. ( i blew into them) Now they just do not make that sound. I can not be the only person with this problem. Looked over instructions again and everything is done the right way. Stange

Are you using a motor to give it 'whistle speed?' Will it whistle when statically tested?

To the first question yes. To the next question no. That was my first thought the motor was not up to whistle speed. But i made sure to use the right motor. Yes i statically tested it and no whistle sound that is the frustrating part.

I have to retort....I was thinking of something totally different until I googled it. Whatever I posted was meant as a joke. Therefore I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about....LOL It did say for proper whistle effect to use D12-5's or 7's.

The Screamin' Mimi is well known for not making noise. I have seen quite a few fly and the few that did whistle, it was very faint and you really had to listen for it.

On a windy day, just the sound of the breeze will drown it out.

I bought a couple of them for parts with 50% off coupons at Michaels just before they went OOP.

My Mimi *does* scream, but, as pointed out by others, it's pretty faint (I've found the "woosh" of the motor noise drowns it out at liftoff, so it's usually after burnout that I can hear it). Pick a nice, low wind day, put a D12-7 in it, and listen close.

Exactly my experience, both with the sound and buying multiples for the parts. A definite treasure trove for the cloner.
