SPARK/Super Strypi links
Hello All,
Below are links to scale data and articles on the SPARK (Spaceborne Payload Assist Rocket) satellite launch vehicle, which is also known as the Super Strypi. This vehicle has flown once thus far (unsuccessfully, on November 3, 2015), from Hawaii’s Barking Sands launch site in Kauai County, carrying several small satellites. The main one was the University of Hawaii’s HiakaSat. Norbert Brügge’s below-linked webpage on the SPARK/Super Strypi contains sufficient scale data to build a Sport Scale or Scale model of the vehicle. Also, Quest Aerospace’s Astra III model rocket kit (see: http://www.questaerospace.com/Astra...5_16422679.aspx ) would, with a lengthened body tube (it uses Quest’s 30 mm diameter tubing), make a good semi-scale or stand-off scale SPARK/Super Strypi model. This NASASpaceFlight.com (see: http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2015...augural-launch/ ) article says that “A second Super Strypi launch is expected to occur at an undetermined future date – possibly in 2016 – and no other launches are currently planned beyond the second mission, which will mark the end of the present experimental program.” Below are the SPARK/Super Strypi links: Good on-launcher Super Strypi photos: http://spaceflightnow.com/2015/11/0...launch-vehicle/ Gunter’s Space Page Super Strypi/SPARK section: http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_lau/super-strypi.htm Norbert Brügge’s SPARK/Super Strypi page with photos, drawings, and dimensions: http://www.b14643.de/Spacerockets_2...ption/Frame.htm “Popular Mechanics” report has a different view of the vehicle: http://www.popularmechanics.com/spa...pacecraft-lost/ Super Strypi article links: www.google.com/#q=Super+Strypi Spaceborne Payload Assist Rocket (SPARK) article links: http://www.google.com/#q=spaceborne...d+assist+rocket SPARK/Super Strypi images: http://www.google.com/search?q=SPAR...WfPBOUQ_AUICSgE I hope this material will be helpful.
