I don't mind plastic, although I tend to prefer balsa. One reason is probably the nostalgia factor, and the other is that I have a wood lathe, so custom turning is pretty rewarding.

The big problem with the plastic nose cone in the Super Alpha is that it has a rounded tip. It doesn't look anything like an Alpha nose cone.

If JumpJet is "listening", can we at least get properly upscaled plastic nose cones for the Super Alpha?

SEMROC has them. In April, Carl offered a free nose cone for the Super Alpha with your next SEMROC order. I don't know whether or not he is still offering them free, but you definitely can purchase one. He has the BNC-60K and the BNC-60KP...your choice.

Nice! I kind of dropped out of rocketry for a few months while going crazy with a new toy, a wood lathe. So I could turn my own, and it is pretty fun to do. My first lathe project was an upscaled Recruiter-like nose cone. But I do love the assortment and incredible quality of Semroc balsa cones.

Guess I may be buying a Super Alpha, and adding another plastic nose cone to the stockpile I have.

I would like to see the same regs for LPR as HPR, and NO I don't want LPR notched up to the requirements of HPR, I want ALL HPR lowered to that of LPR.
No certs, no baloney, next to no regs or BS.
Yeah, I do want a "Free for all" !

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

amen. but then Hilary's goons would rag everyone for being terrorists, etc. but even most HPR have a small margin for payload, if a terrorist wanted to attack with one, it would have to be something biological, which, for that matter, could be caried on an alpha. but I don't even have a field big enough for high power.

We still have one BNC-60K and 4 60KP's left if someone needs them.
