Whose motors are these?
Anyone recognize these motors?

The motor on the 'right' in pictures 1, 2, 4, 5 appears to be an Enerjet or made from Enerjet parts.

Agree...one on right is most certainly some sort of Enerjet or motor made with Enerjet parts.
At one time they made all the way up to small-J Enerjets for the 'professional' market. You would have to ask Lee Piester what those looked like, but the Enerjet may be one of the G motors that they commonly made for the 1320/2250/2650 series kits.

The one on the right is definitely a production Enerjet, probably a G76-10 or so. The one on the left might be an Irv Wait motor. I never saw any Enerjets resembling that in any respect. No Ejerjet J's existed in reality. The regs at the time were pretty onerous.
I flew quite a few Enerjet G's. They were real and in the wild wild west. Jerry |

Who is Irv Wait?
You can't really tell from the picture, but the motor on the left has what appears to be a piece of cork covering the propellant. Any idea what that might be for? The motor on the right being an Enerjet fits. I was a kid at the time, but I seem to recall Lee Piester bringing Enerjets to NARAM-14. Maybe my dad picked it up then. - Rich |

Motor on Left
I was imagine that the cork or material in the nozzle was to protect the propellant while the nozzle was being epoxied in, as evidenced by the epoxy on the cork. Don't know if this was standard practice, but it seems like a good idea.
Worked for Standards and Testing back in the '70s and it was neat to watch the unlabled motors fire with the translucent fiberglass casings. Chas

I have 1 maybe 2 of the fiber wound casings and it was part of that Estes lot that I got from Craig Something when I acquired his collection through the guys who were selling it off on ebay about 3 years back. I will have to dig them up and talk to Matt Steele about them. He may know exactly who did them. Jonathan |
