Default eRockets Semroc Sabre announced in Sport Rocketry

The short write up in the March / April 2019 edition states "...and glides like the Sabre jet it was fashioned after."

Huh?

Well, I don't know how well a real Sabre jet fighter could actually 'glide'.......maybe "like a brick" ??

Said of some fighter jets: "If you put enough thrust behind a brick you can make it fly"
Also demonstrated by the Saturn V.....

The eRockets website says that the kit is a parasite glider and to "Provide your own booster rocket" They show an example of the Saber attached to a booster rocket that looks like a Semroc Javelin painted in U-SAF markings. The Sabre looks fun, another great Semroc addition by eRockets…..maybe attach it to a Big Bertha type booster too?

Sabres glide slightly better than the average MANHOLE COVER.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Yeah, that’s a bit much even for press release copy🤪

Something like “glides like the Sabre jet it looks like in flight...” would be a bit better!

The F-4 Phantom II is the meanest looking "all business" aircraft ever designed.
Sad to see them stop flying.
"Clean" they could do nearly Mach 2.4.

The last US Based one flying is privately owned by the Collings Foundation.
The last two in the actual USAF stopped flying more than a year ago.

They do look wicked and they performed quite well considering they were designed for both AF/Navy and had to do air superiority and tactical bombing, sometimes on the same missions.

I guess their last front line work for the USA was with the Wild Weasels. It wasn't a bad platform for that or for recon with the M 2.4 top speed, even after it was past its prime in other roles. Even with Tomcats and Eagles having more powerful engines, the F-4 always seemed the loudest and, as you say, meanest at the air shows.

BTW, the new F-35 is really loud for a single engine fighter. My son works at Lockheed in FW and can tell from the noise what has just shown up at the airfield without looking outside.
