Default Estes Partizon

I haven't posted anything here for a long time... I've been really busy with my family etc. But recently I did complete an Estes Partizon and got it painted. Paint came out great, the photo doesn't do it justice. All paint, no tape. I'm also finishing up an Estes Curvelinear. Just need to paint the fins and it'll be done. I also ordered an Estes Black Star Voyager and a Aerotech G-Force. But next on my table is a a rocket called the Lance Missile from 'The Launch Pad' rocketry... I think it's gonna be a tough build. Gotta cut out the fins, build a boat tail, build a tip for the nose cone out of paper, cut the parachute, etc. Gonna be a test of my limited skills for sure.

No one with limited skills could finish a Partizon like that.
Very nicely done.

I love the gold stripes!
How were they masked? What paint did you use?

Lovely model!

Very nice job on the Partizon. I'm with John, I like the purple.

I've got something like four different cans of purple in my box of spray paints. What purple did you use?

One of my favorites is no longer made -- Krylon X-Metal. I think it was available in just a few metallic colors. I found it a few years ago, in purple and red, and I think maybe there was blue. There was also an X-Metal base color to use prior to color coat.

Thanks guys! Those stripes are actually red.... I know they look a little gold in the photo but it's straight up fire engine red. I'll have to double check that purple, I don't recall from memory what it is exactly but I'll let you know. As for the color scheme... I just went with what was on the package and just eye balled it. Primed it, then Gloss White, masked off the spots I wanted White with blue painters tape then used the purple. After it was dry I just eye balled the stripes... I did one and just used that as the baseline and tried to get the others as close to width and placement as I could. Just used blue painters tape and a red paint marker to make the stripes. Put the floor finish on it after it was dried.

Here's the Curvelinear.... not the best photo but I happened to have it on my phone. Fun little build.

I love the idea of the paint pen... I might have to do that myself.
