Default Bird Strike

In all my years of riding, I recorded only my second solid bird strike this morning. I can tell you for a fact that a snow bird (sparrow size) hitting you square in the forehead at 85 mph doesn't feel any different than a bumblebee. However, the sound is totally different. A bumblebee sounds like a good size rock when it hits your helmet, where the bird sounded like.........a tiny hunk of flesh covered by feathers. It's also easier to see the bird tumbling in the rear view mirror after bouncing high into the air off your helmet.

I can relate! Many years ago I took a June bug to the forehead at highway speed while driving my '86 CJ7 at highway speed on the TriState with the windshield folded forward. It felt like a bowling ball.

Yep, a hard bumblebee or june bug to bare skin at slightly illegal speeds is painful, however, the bird hit my helmet, so the tiny feather pillow didn't affect me at all. It didn't even crap on me!

Yeah, and it "quit" all down the side of the plane. I had to open the rear door with a paper towel.

Ok, I'm back now. After watching the "Strangest/Greatest Commercial Ever" video from Shrox's link I had to take a break and re-compose myself.

Tbzep, you said you hit a flying squirrel?
