The new MacGyver looks like a pasty young college kid into graphic novels and cosplay. IMDB shows him as a 26 year old. Colonel Jack O'Neill, I mean Richard Dean Anderson was 35 when the original show began. Looks like CBS is trying to hook a younger audience.

YUCK.
The original with it's no-guns-ever theme SUCKED.
The ONLY good thing to say about the series was it co-starred Dana Elcar.

The new one should be an even bigger FARCE than the original.

The only series I have ever seen as a remake that is even close to be worth watching is Hawaii Five-O.

ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !

You would maybe prefer the extreme cartoon violence of the old A Team series? I mean, that show took things to a ridiculous extreme: everyone would be spraying machine gun fire everywhere, blowing up cars, boats, planes, and everything in between, and ALL the bad guys would walk away from charred, upside-down wreckage! No one ever got hurt on that show. Everything on the show might as well have come from Acme!

Yes, I did MUCH prefer the A-Team over MacGyver.
I however did NOT like two key points of the show-
1)Their choice of POS Mini-14's as primary weapon over the far-superior and modular AR-15/M-16 platform.
2) No matter how many rounds were fired or how many grenades detonated (HTF do fugitives on the lam EVER procure grenades anyway ?) , none of the 'bad guys' ever sustained any flesh-penetrating wounds. C'mon noww...grenade blasts within 10 feet and only some carbon-black charred clothes ?

The only persons on the show that ever got wounded by any sort of projectile were MEMBERS of the A-TEAM !

............AND, no matter where they were, the A-Team ALWAYS had the ability to power a welder.

Yeah, the no guns thing always irritated me with MacGyver too. Mainly because he thought it was OK to "make" a gun out of a ballpoint pen to shoot someone but not a bullet...

Or use IED's which are indiscriminate vs an aimed firearm. And just like our safety code, he sometimes used fuses, which can't be stopped if an innocent bystander comes within range.

Look at fuse ignition as the countdown has passed the point of being able to abort.
I LIKE the reliability level of fuses over igniters in some cases.

Rocketry use wasn't even close to the point.
