Help With An Old Plan...
Does ANYONE here have any idea of the rough CG of the old Estes "Flying Jenny" plan for a good glide? The plans suggest a trial and error approach, but I'm doing an upscale and don't really want to use this method.

Another of those models needing a proverbial "field of tall grass" for flight trimming. The best way to find the "balance point" is to suspend the model inverted on a thread. In this case, tie a small loop around the lower spar and move it until the model hangs level. This is your built balance point. The CG will probably need to be forward of the lower wing dependent upon the span of your model, by 3/4" or 1". Course, if you are not going to spit the motor then install an empty casing to set you glide CG
If all else fails get in touch with Squirrel Works and ask for the suggested CG for the Red Baron or Mega Red Baron.

Seeing Scott's model nudged me into action on finishing up my Mega Baron rc project. Previously I had glued up the wings and motor mount. Yesterday I got the fuselage and wing supports glued together and cut my elevons from the upper wing.
