Tim,
It's about the moral of the troops, not money.

Knock $4-$5 bucks a year off my membership dues, and my moral would go up

The pins only "benefit" those who are HPR certified. What about the card packing NAR members who are certification level "0"?

Seems to me all NAR members would benefit that way, not just the HPR folks.

And yes, I did received a L2 pin in the mail.

Not trying to stir the pot here, just asking....

True - the pin is a nice gift , but I can see Tim's point... only about half the NAR members are certified. Roughly 2500~ members don't get a pin. Did they get something else?

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth - really doesn't make sense, but seems appropriate. I've never seen a "gift horse" in the flesh, so I can't say what the consequences are. Just don't do it!

If the NAR just HAS to send certification pins out to all certified HPR users, don't forget all of those members who are not certified. Send the rest of the folks who are not certified a complimentary NAR logo pin or something. It's kind of a snub to the hard working folks in NAR who do a lot, but aren't HPR users.

Just saying.... fair is fair....

My suspicion is that this is a form of advertising to show make it more apparent the number of high power flyers that are NAR certified.

This is at most a three-time deal for any one member, not a recurring annual expense. Not a big deal in my book.
