Default Nike Hercules Kit

I'm beginning to build a Sandman 4+13mm Nike Hercules kit. The kit is an example of the Sandman quality which is *excellent*. I previously built his 4+18 so I thought I'd add his other Herc to my collection (I don't plan to launch either...for now). I plan to take it slow, not to mean I rushed the first build but to incorporate what I learned on the 4+18mm.

Anyhow, I used Elmer's white glue on the 4+18. Any suggestions on other glue to use any why?

Thanks

I used Elmer's white glue on my prototype for everything. But I use Elmer's white glue for everything anyway.

The slow set up time lets you align part even after 20 minutes or so.

I'm in no hurry...it's a hobby. It's designed to kill time.

The only variation is on the bottom wrap. I had to use some super glue to attache it to the alredy painted booster tubes.

Wow, it's a year ago since I started my 13mm build. I've just resumed and am in the stage to build the rocket motors. When I built my 18mm Nike Hercules, I posted pictures of each step. I may do the same for this build but I'm not sure I'll be able to keep the pace as I did before. Anyhow, I'm at it again! Sorry Sandman, I just got lazy

Thanks OK. Life interupts us all the time.

Yesterday was a total waste of time for me. I couldn't make any progress on kits.

I had to go and babysit my grandaughter all day.

Sometimes lifes interuptions are fun. Spending the day with a 15 month old was way more fun than anything else I had planned.

Except for the diaper changes...

I have built one of the 13mm Nike's from Roachwerks, and am pretty happy with it! One mod I did to mine was to clip off the base of the engine hooks-mainly because I think I got the motor tubes a tad too far into the the booster tubes..Gordon even wnt so far as to send me a new set of decals after he had done some 'touching up'..One of these days I will put them on..LOL..Oh, and it flies awesome!

Nice job pantherjon! I've completed my booster motor assembly and have sanded the transition. The last pix is the messy table I use for my builds. Needless to say, I've got a job to do there!

What is the best material to stiffen the fins? Fast CA has worked for me in the past but it is difficult to spread evenly before it dries. I've read where Weld Bond is a better choice since it does dry as fast. I also assume that Weld Bond does not smell as bad. as CA. Would slow CA work OK?
