Default Is it me, or does this Saturn V look a modern re-kit?

The parachutes look late 70's/early 80's, the paper work shows a Maxi-Alpha III ... a few parts ARE missing.

Looks like he got an old partial kit, then added newer parts to fill in the missing pieces:

That's a Maxi Alpha, not Maxi Alpha III.

The Maxi Alpha first came out in 1977. The Saturn V was also avaliable at that time.

The parachutes are legit aswell.

Are some parts original?..., who knows but the seller themselves.

I always thought, perhaps incorrectly, the early Saturn V kits such as this one used the checkerboard parachutes until the packaging changed.
Someone straighten me out!

Allen,

I thought so too, but there are times when spare parts get included into kits.

One thing of note: The little blue brochure shows the Statship Nova that wasn't available until 1981. Just seems a bit late in the game for a 'K-Series' bird to have 80's items in them.

The Damon style logo is on the box, so I would think that the newer chutes could be inside.

My biggest surprise is the 80's paperwork included.

The Saturn V was last offered in that configuration in 1985.

But you can always question such things when a kit is opened.

That kit looks totally correct for a 1973 to 1985 vintage #1236/K-36 Saturn V.
Prior to 1973 the box would not say #1236, it would just have the K-36.
Chutes correct for the era as well....I don't think it was pieced together.

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !
