Alamo Rocketeers January Launch
The launch this Saturday has been delayed until 4:00pm due to a memorial service being
held at the field. The service should be over around 3:00. Weather reports (so far) predict 66 degrees and very light winds. As a reminder, we have changed our field to the Kitty Hawk Flying Field in Garden Ridge, TX just north of San Antonio. If you would like to attend and need directions, just let me know. Thanks. .

The launch today was fantastic! We only had a couple of hours of daylight, but we managed to
put up a LOT of rockets. I didn't catch them all unfortunately, but I did manage to create a video of some of them. Weather was almost perfect! 60+ degrees at the start with less than 5mph winds. There were several ultralights flying today that we had to be careful of, and someone showed up at the pistol range right behind where we were launching. There were close to 25 people there launching and watching... it was a great day! We'll be launching again in February if the weather cooperates. Launch Video Enjoy!

Being here in Wisconsin, I was going to get a bit envious of the weather you have. After I started hearing the gunshots, and the ultralight engines, I decided a snowy cold field isn't so bad.
I enjoyed your video, and espicially the excited kids in the background. Hopefully some of them will continue on in the hobby.

When the weather's nice everyone comes out to play! The field we fly on is an Ultralight
field, as well as powered parachutes and model airplanes. We just have to be careful when we send something up so we don't shoot anyone down Right behind where we were set up is a small pistol range where they conduct Concealed Carry license classes. They had their class in the morning, but someone showed up to practice. The firing line was close but in the other direction. We had lots of kids there for this launch. It was great! Only two of them had rockets to launch though. A friend of mine and her two boys showed up and I gave them a couple of rockets to launch and keep (Quest Falcon and Starlight Sky Master). They had fun learning how to prep the rockets and launch them. They also went out and chased down several of the longer-distance recoveries. Hopefully February's launch will be as well attended. We had an unusual number of saucers go up. Art Applewhite always brings a new design or two to test as well. I love his saucers and other designs.
