I ended up rebuilding the Tomahawk sustainer.

I got it into the air this past weekend at the TWA launch. Booster was an H175SS staging to a G88SS. Weather was great - really calm. Boost was great. Sustainer didn’t light. The flight computer says that channel was open circuit at the time of firing. I’ve gone looking for the loose connection- I suspect the screw terminal on the Proton board at this point.

At least I got everything back this time. And collect data to tune my sim.

Got a good flight in, after figuring out that the altimeter output channel I was using for sustainer ignition was bad.

H237SS to G88SS.

No wimpy low-thrust weak motors in that video.
I liked it.

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Seeing them side by side, like that, really reminds me how small the UTE Booster really is.

Yep. It’s an ickle booster. Fits a 1 grain 38mm nicely. Looks great in flight.

There was a small separation charge at 0.1 sec after burnout. It's not obvious if it was drag separation or the charge. Based on the accelerometer data, I think I got drag separation this time. Then motor ignition at 0.5s after burnout - and the accelerometer data suggests it took 0.3s to come up to pressure.
