Atlas V/CST-100 details
Hello All,
The ULA Atlas V/CST-100 launch vehicle/capsule combination will have an unusual configuration (see: www.spaceflightnow.com/news/n1108/04boeingatlas ). The version of the Atlas V that will carry the Boeing CST-100 capsule will have just one strap-on solid propellant booster on its first stage (this configuration has already been used for launching a few satellites) and will use a two-engine Centaur upper stage (which is also a bit unusual, as the single-engine Centaur is used more often nowadays). Boeing has also outlined the planned flight test series, which is described in the above-linked article.
