Every once in a while we get teased the B14 may come back.
I would like Estes to bring out core-burning B, C, and D engines over anything else including new kits. They would sell. Any 'reasons' for not doing so are just baloney excuses.

You can search for registered trademarks using the site listed above. You can see both active and "dead" trademarks owned by Estes-Cox. Some of the kit names mentioned, such as "Orbital Transport" are not registered. That, of course, doesn't mean that Estes wasn't able to claim them as trademarks and enforce their claims. A trade or service mark does not have to be registered. But, it does explain why some expected names don't show up in the bankruptcy documents. The documents listed the registered trademarks. The unregistered trade and service marks, though, surely have some value. And ... what-the-heck is NEUROGEVITY?! -- Roger |

It is possible that the new owners would break apart Estes and sell the pieces like the corporate raiders of lore. But, it is highly unlikely. Estes as a whole is worth far more than its parts. What good are buildings in the middle of nowhere (other than for manufacturing rocket motors)? :-)
I think John Boren and the others at Estes have done a terrific job over the past few years. The RTF and ARF products are much better than they were. Years ago those products were, frankly, pretty shoddy and not very likely to interest anyone in continuing with rocketry. The new ones fit together well, work well, and, for the most part, look good. Estes has released new motors and larger kits. And they have reintroduced classic kits (while creating some future classics). -- Roger |

And interesting to see Estes as a contractor as part of a limestone mining operation.
And nice to see royalties for Mike Dorffler designed kits were still being paid. kj |

Yep, I will keep my fingers crossed until the bitter end......Or better end who knows.......Maybe we will see Centuri kits, Cox and Sterling models come to life
More importantly, I hope all works out for the employees. |
