Perfect. That went directly to Buzz Nau so he could process it for me.

Bob,

I'm showing a need remains for plan scans on the 0871 Vector; the Scout III and the Echo reportedly have plans in the queue to be posted.

We can still use those Mars Snooper plans, even if they're essentially identical to the original "K" series version...

The Terrier/Sandhawk we certainly need, as I see no activity yet for those scans.

Thanks for looking through your collection!

Now I'm not sure if I want to open the bag to scan it. Then I'd have to keep track of the parts, etc., which means I'd have to move it from the top of the pile of other rocket stuff on the dining room table.

Okay, I did open the bag a while ago, and last night I scanned the instructions, the shock cord mount and marking guide (IIRC), and the 4 small balsa pieces. I also scanned one set of the plastic "wings," which I think are supposed to be solar panels. There are a lot of other plastic parts in this kit, but I don't think I'll scan them. There aren't any decals. The header card is *huge* and there's no way it'll fit on my flatbad scanner.

I was in kind of a hurry and saved everything as .tif files, but I didn't check to see what the file sizes were.

Guys, don't bother scanning the Terrier Sandhawk. I have an open one I plan on scanning as soon as I get caught up with some other projects.

That's where I read it! I was thinking I read it on OldRockets. Buzz, I've already got the plans in my scanner. I'll scan them and the decal and send them to YORP today. Most of the stuff I have has already been scanned, and most of the needed stuff I don't have. It will give me a chance to contribute.

Okay, the file sizes for the scans I did of the instructions for the #2102 15th anniversary TIE Fighter were 24 MB each!!! I scanned them as black text and saved them as 300 dpi .TIF files. So, last night I opened the .TIF's in Windows Paint and saved them again as monochrome .BMP files. The file sizes are now 1 MB each. This leads me to believe that the original .TIF's were actually 24 bits per pixel instead of 1 bit per pixel, which is what I would have expected the scanning software to save scans of black text as.

Anyway... they are now a manageable size, and I'll be sending them off to plans @ oldrocketplans.com soon, hopefully later today.
