Shiny Paint Job Option?
So one of the very diverse cast of my Facebook friends posted this link:
http://www.elleuk.com/beauty/nails/...know-we-needed/ Yes, it's nail polish. Never mind that... the question is, if they can make a nail polish that comes out mirror-bright, can we get a paint that does that? Metallic spray paint is generally rather disappointing to me.

There are some finishing systems, like Alcad?, that will simulate bare metal. However, those finishing systems require several steps to achieve that look, and you will need a good airbrush or automotive spray gun. If you really want a good metal flake paint job, I would look at automotive finishing systems. Either of these paint systems are somewhat expensive. YMMV.
I don't think we will see a can of spray paint like that nail polish that you described. EPA would probably kill it if it appeared.

The Rustoleum 2x spray is the hardest, shineyest I've ever used. Takes a while to dry, but it's well worth it.
That is, as long as you get a good nozzle , and it doesn't spatter... Lots of colors, too. The 2x is a good primer, but I like the Duplicolor filling primer I get at Pep Boys auto the best. Sands exceptionally well. Again, LOTS of colors from which to choose. I believe they must be lacquer -based as they dry very quickly. Allen |

For shiny chrome, hands down the best ever is Duplicolor Chrome over a flat black primer. Three light coats and it looks like foil wrap.
But keep your grubby fingers off . . . .

Have you ever tried this stuff?
It's a lacquer and when it's applied over black primer that's been buffed with steel wool it looks like chrome plating. I have an extra can of it. If you want it, PM your address to me.
