Default Sling TV?

I'm exploring the world of cord cutting, and am looking for people here who are using the Sling TV streaming service. Good? Bad? In between?

No experience with Sling, but our cable company charges a lot more for internet if we don't also have cable tv packaged in. It makes internet tv a less economical choice than it would seem.

Bunny,

I use Apple TV for most TV's. I recommended Roku for an elderly friend. When cutting the cord Ooma is a great phone option. Tax only per month about $4.

One trick is to have one Cable TV subscription somewhere friend or family that allows you to use their login to approve channels that have to be attached to a real cable TV account.

Each Netflix account can service 4 TV's.

We have not arrived yet at fully cord cutting, but we can replicate one subscription to many screens.

Amazon Prime, Netflix, and many free channels are all you can watch anyway. Many TV channels have Youtube feeds with commercials in place.

BTW you are NOT cutting the cord. You are using wired internet without a TV subscription or a phone subscription to access the internet. Spectrum has been offering 100mbs service for years and recently added faster 400mbs service to accommodate 4 screens of 4K streaming for +$25/month.

5G wireless will be the only actual cord cutting.

My father has roku and Sling TV.
I would rate it as mediocre overall and decent for the price.
Sometimes the picture gets grainy and has delays.
If price is not a factor, stay with digital cable or satellite TV.

GH makes a point! Digital TV has streaming lags and it is not avoidable. But I find even our digital cable service also has occasional lags and choppiness. Near as I know analog is dead. Long live analog!

We went with Sling using a Roku. While it does buffer once in a while we like it overall. We kept the cable but changed to their minimum service and use Sling to get the channels we want at a lower price.
