If you ever do decide it is time to sell part or all of your collection, you definitely know where to find enthusiasts that would be interested !

Looks like there are a number of us with substantial unopended Estes kit collections. The challenge is to keep the collection organized which I've been working on with the Estes database (see my post on other Kit Collecting thread and this link....http://www.seateddimevarieties.com/BAR/home.htm). Yes, I'm fairly sick about details and discipline when it comes to collecting.
In the numismatic community, we have an internet feature called open registry whereby collectors can list their entire coin collections (typically by series) for publicity and to compete with other serious coin collectors. Would there be a potential application of the same idea here. In other words, a standard Estes kit set is defined (which I've tried to do) and then individuals download an excel spreadsheet with the individual kit entries to make up the set. Then they list all of the kits and quantities and submit to the "registry". The coordinator of the registry posts the submitted collections. Then individuals can have the bragging rights on who has the most extensive Estes collection on the planet. For an idea of what I am describing....look at this link from my coin collecting website....http://www.seateddimevarieties.com/...op100_index.htm. Click on any of the collection names to see the individual collections. |

Are they for sale? I really want that space shuttle. Do you have the Hercules 1377? The hobby stores out of BT-50. Also, how many Interceptor-E's did I see? They sell for $50 at the local hobby store. Also, they don't carry the fat boy or the outlander. And pantherjon, that seems like a large collection.

Mine's so unorganized I can't even take pictures of it! Are any of those cox motors D8-3's? that was a great motor, worked great in a Mars Lander, a converted Jupiter-C, and my Centuri mercury-Redstone! Thats one I wish was still around!
