I would have thought typo too...except the day before a friend of mine handed this to me from a pack he bought about two years ago, and I have seen others with a code of this length also. It's A0608102 I don't know how to get the date from it. I would like to fly the oldest first. (This one was flown). I have a guess - June 8, 2010, 2pm |

The only problem I've ever had with weak or non-existent ejection charges seamed to occur with motors from the blast packs. All were reported using the NAR form.....

You are correct.
I just went out to the garage and looked at a variety of Estes B and C motors and some have the extra digit and some do not. SO...I have no idea what that new code represents. Contact Estes and ask them. FYI, codes are now printed on the motor casing as well as the back of the package (on the cardboard backing for the blister-pack). They match. Some have the expected number of digits and some have an extra digit. Only Estes knows.... Quote:

Bad Estes Engines
I had an engine failure from a 3 pack on July 4th. The code is A021611. I have never in my life had a bad engine. The rocket went up about 35 feet and fell back to the ground where the ejection went off. Top of tube damaged. Seemed like a problem with the propellant to me.
