Terminators, as robots or cyborgs, made their own decision of when and who to shoot based solely upon programming. UAVs require a person to make that decision. Big difference. UAVs have certain advantages and disadvantages just like manned aircraft do. We will need both in the forseeable future.

F Shrox!

It is just an aircraft that is semi-autonomous. While there are ethical issues our current enemy ignores those, hence the slippery slope.

If it makes you feel better, a World War I biplane is better armed than the X-47B. The Navy's pending UCLASS won't be much better.

Yeah, but he's got a point...

What happens when someone comes along with "better software" and decides that it's better to "take the human operator out of the loop" and we end up with something terminator like??

That day is coming...

Later! OL JR

They said the F-117 was capable of an un-manned mission years ago!

I suspect and have read that the performance of fighter aircraft will/could/can exceed what a human body can put up with—making manned fighters and pilots obsolete.

Something to think about—on a lot of different levels.

Ultimately these will be programmed to eliminate TEA Party sympathizers.
