Default Anything new on Rustoleum Gloss White?

I know we've posted about this before, but does anybody have anything new on what to do when your Rustoleum Gloss White (or other color) with the new spray nozzle starts sputtering about half-way through the can? I absolutely love the finish this paint has when you have a fresh can, but when its starts sputtering as it did today half-way through painting my little Viking, well, there has been some salty language in the garage.

This is driving me a little nuts. I have four cans, all about one-half to two-thirds full of paint. I've tried soaking the "nozzles" in mineral spirits. No joy. The nozzle still sputters after an overnight soak.

Any other ideas?

Swap nozzles with another brand.

Try using a pin or a very fine piece of wire to clear the nozzle with soaking in a little DOPE thinner or Toluene.
Warm the can in a pan of mildly hot (say 120F) water to make sure it is not a pressurization issue.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Rustoleum will send out new nozzles, but that does not cure the problem, there is something in the can that causes this sputter with the 2X. The original Rustoleum is better but I have swapped back over the using old formula Krylon.

This is why I finally switched to using an airbrush.

No, as in

No soaking the nozzles
No fine pins stuck anywhere (unless it's in a Rusteoleum exec's arse)
No using other brands nozzles

The only solution I ever found was using the can upside down (like when your clearing the nozzle). It's messy, a pain but can be done to finish a paint job.

I agree, it makes a great finish, but I just didn't like spending money and then trying to get a refund (which I finally received when I got through on there website by using the IE browser to get the Captcha code to work) and... and... and...

I am not 100% percent certain, but heating the can before use (I stuck mine in front of a heating vent) may have been causing the problem. I don't recall doing that to all the cans I had problems with though.
