He!!, I thought you were down in Ferguson, MO, chanting "No Justice, No Peace" with all the other oppressed gang bangers, strong arm robbers and looters.

I see you haven't lost your touch.

No one ever learns from history. We bombed the eff out of North Vietnam, however, no boots ever followed up and we ended up looking like losers.

There is much more I could elucidate on and other parallels, but the first and foremost thing is... someone needs to stand and hold the ground period

We had boots on the ground in Iraq and Afganistan for a decade and nothing changed. Wasted lives and wasted money.

Yep, nobody learns from history.

First, your stratey must end with complete victory over the enemy, he must be subjucated to your will and direction.
Second, you must infiltrate every aspect of the enemy's society, religious institutions, and culture with your commanding presence.
Third and fourth, you must re-educate the populace to abandon that which they relied upon to bolster and drive them to fight you while you provide a democratic substitute that cherishes freedom above all else.
Fifth, those that resist and continue to fight back are eliminated, either by military force if they present an organized unit or through a fair judicial system that has the death penalty.
Sixth, do this for two or three generations, fifty to seventy five years.

It's expensive, in money and lives. But it has a better chance to stop the recurring trouble spots from flaring up every couple of decades where we fight, stay ten years, wait fifteen to twenty years and fight again. Repeat in another decade or two.

The media will second and third guess every decision and bitterly complain that it is not right, who are we to decide such things. Draft them first!
