Default Questions about AAA Model Aviation, Enerjet and Nike Ram/H

I'm hoping somebody can straighten me out.

I have been looking into the AAA Model Aviation Fuels Nike H and Nike Ram and am confused on a couple of issues.

All of my google searches turn up only the model rockets. Was there every a real prototype these were based upon or was it like the Estes Nike X? If real, can you supply links?

Also, I have noticed that in the plans and decal scans, "Enerjet" appears in the form of the old Enerjet logo. Was the AAA version originally licensed from Enerjet?

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the H and the RAM is the motor size. Does anybody know which came first?

I'd appreciate any information that anyone could provide on any of these matters.

Thanks

AAA and Enerjet are discreet. Enerjet had a formal commercial industrial product release pitch. AAA (Alexander Andrake) was model rocket. He had reach wider than Enerjet BTW.

Less mindshare.

Al Andrake was a pioneer cowboy of high power rocketry. He freely copied decals, designs, and illustrations in rule books.

Thus, I doubt there was any licensing deal with Enerjet.

I think it is safe to assume that the Nike Ram 2 (the second high power / mid power rocket I ever built, back in 1988) was an upscale of the Enerjet Nike Ram:

. . . which was a "scale-like" sport flyer.

I miss AAA and Andrake. He was a big help early on.

Thanks for the information. It is much appreciated.

From this I am getting that:

1. Enerjet was the original
2. The Nike Ram was never a "real rocket"

All input is appreciated.

Thanks again,

The AAA Nike Ram 2 model was 2.6" heavy tube with an Estes PNC-80K (Phoenix, Optima, Maxi Alpha, etc.) and had four fins. IIRC, the Enerjet kit was 1.34" (ST-13) and had three fins.

I've got an AAA Nike Ram 2 and have posted pics somewhere, but I don't have time to find them.

Thanks again,

I posted this link for the 1987 AAA Catalogue over on TRF as well ( http://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/ca...s_Catalogue.pdf ).
The early version of the Nike-Ram 2 only had three fins. The Nike-H, introduced in 1988 had 4 fins. By 1990 they both had 4 fins and the only difference was the motor mount.

I very much appreciate the info.

I'll post this standing offer to you and to everyone else as well.

I am willing to pay for catalogs I do not have. In fact, I am willing to let you keep the original catalog.

All I am looking for are quality scans. I will pay Kinko's or a similar service to do the work or do it myself and pay for it myself. You get to keep the originals.

Anybody interested can send me a PM.

It also looks like the earlier Nike Ram 2 had a different nose cone, most likely one made for heavy tubing. I'm referring to the one in one of the photos linked in this thread (images are blocked here at work so I don't know which it is). The cone is black and has a sharp point. The kit I have used the Estes PNC-80K as I mentioned earlier.

Thanks again,

The nike ram was a real Enerjet model, but not real scale subject rocket.

Sorry, should've read the quoted post a little slower. Mis-took what you stated.
