Default Vintage Estes Renegade build

On to my next build, the Renegade. Looks to be an easy build and fun to fly.

That one flies very nicely on an Estes D12-5.
Not too high, but not low either.
This is the kit the Citation Patriot SHOULD have been and is very similar to the Patriot in that the fins are very similar in shape, the same nose cone, same tube diameter, and just enough longer in length to make it interesting.

The rocket is all built and balsa sealed, just have to prime and paint. What a big motor mount. Since this is built in 2 halves, it makes painting real easy. This is a big rocket and should be fun to fly. Does anyone know when Estes went to the 1 piece PNC-60H? Sorry about the pictures, my other camera is out right now.

Look forward to seeing this one done.

Decals look pretty yellowed, are you going to reprint those on your ALps ?

I have a Renegade done except for motor mount ( can;t decide to leave it 24mm or drop in a 29 ). got the Excelsior decals, might get it painted before the weather gets bad in NY< been finishing up a few I;ve neglected all summer.

pics someday ( of this and others, my bad )

I think Estes went to the one-piece PNC-60H somewhere in the early 80's like 82 or 83.

I was guessing around 79, just because the Der Red Max picture has the one piece in the picture. I looked in the 78 picture and it looks like the 2 piece. The 2 piece is real nice, smooth and heavy duty.
