Default FH static firing (link)

Hello All,

SpaceX's first Falcon Heavy launch vehicle is back in place at LC-39A, and its 27-engine static firing is expected soon, although probably not today. SpaceFlightNow.com has a video feed page with text updates here: http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/01/0...t-preparations/ .

Grab up a cheap Monoprice 8" subwoofer for $70 off eBay or Rakuten.

If you have money to blow, get the 12" version for about $135-140. Amazon has it cheaper if they don't charge you sales tax. It's the best bang for the buck in subwoofer land for movies and rocket launches, but don't expect it to be the perfect fit for classical or jazz music. For that kind of accuracy, depth, and detail, you'd have to spend several hundred...or more.

I was only joking, and I can seldom spare such discretionary sums anymore...*but*, now that you've mentioned it, I have an RCA AM/FM/CD/Cassette unit (essentially a "tabletop boom box") whose large speakers can, I'm pretty sure, accept external inputs (if it won't, I have an old Emerson one that does)--Thank You for reminding me!

I know you were just kidding, but there's always options such as the Goodwill store. If you don't have a local one, there is www.shopgoodwillonline.com. The subs that come with cheap home theater speaker packages show up there often. They are terrible for music but would probably match up well with inexpensive computer speakers.

Thank you for that link--being dependent on Van Tran (our town's disabled paratransit van service; it does what it does well, but the scheduling is rigid and must be set up in advance), it isn't easy to just "up and go somewhere." We frequented the local Goodwill store in Miami, but there isn't one here (although there are other thrift stores, but their "electronics fare," when I still drove, was limited).

SpaceX conducted a fueling test of the Falcon Heavy on Saturday, as can be seen in this video (see: http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/01/2...est-at-pad-39a/ ), and *here* http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/01/0...t-preparations/ is a short article about it.
