NAR and Seattle Museum of Flight Educator Workshop and Aerojet Tour

Attention Middle and High School Educators! 3, 2, 1, Blast-Off! Launching STEM with Model Rocketry Energize your math and science curriculum! This workshop introduces model rocketry and how it can be used to teach STEM concepts in the classroom. The class begins with participants building a model rocket carrying an egg and parachute, performing a sample force and motion lesson and learning how to conduct a variety of experiments. We then travel to 60 Acres Park in Redmond to launch the rockets, then head to nearby aerospace company Aerojet (www.aerojet.com), for a debrief session and tour of the facility. Educator resources, programs and events from the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) will be highlighted and participants will receive an NAR teacher certification. Presented by NAR Education Chairman, Vince Huegele. (WA State clock hours available at no charge).
