Two Stage Atlas?
I'm working an a 1/35 Atlas GATV to go with my 1/35 Gemini Titan. I've looked around for examples of people modelling the stage-and-a-half Atlas flight profile - but haven't found any posts.
Has anyone seen a model of this? A pad lit cluster shedding the outer engines in flight?

Do you have any pics for your 1/35 GT? Did you turn your own capsule? Body tube would be about 3.4". What did you use? Thanks

I would contact Marc McReynolds.
He has been testing parts of something very cool and may have already done the portion you are asking about. If you are buying supplies to build one, use these: https://catalog.usmint.gov/dw/image...g?sw=480&sh=420 Quote:

If you are referring to Mark's Atlas Agena rocket, he didn't model the stage-and-a-half on the Atlas booster. I watched his scale model fly at the FIRE event near Austin last weekend. Beautiful model. -W

I did not see the full model, just test flights of the upper stage and payload fairing sep. Quote:

I was part of the scale judging team at F.I.R.E. It was based more on Sports Scale rules as the event was an attempt to make the international events less anal (read: Russian, my humble opinion) and spur more involvement.
Marc's Atlas Agena B was very nice. He did say that he is working on a Stage-and-a-Half version, but did not do so for this entry. The Atlas first stage did feature rear ejection. The timer for the Agena failed to function and so it did not deploy. Still a very nice entry and attempt at more than a simple single stage model. Chas

There's some nice pics there, Dave. The booster model looks pretty nifty.
I'm still printing parts to clone the Estes kit as a starting point. Haven't made a decision to try (or not) for the stage-and-a-half. Charles
