MicroMaxx question
Hello All,
I have a question concerning the MicroMaxx igniters. Can the regular Quest 9 volt "beeping" launch controller be used with them, or would it fire these igniters as soon as the safety key was inserted? Also: The reason why I ask is because I just had a supply of Quest MicroMaxx motors and Estes 13 mm mini motors with igniters (plus ASP and FlisKits MicroMaxx and mini motor kits) sent to a 71 year-old friend in France (the motors are from an EU vendor), along with a MicroMaxx launch pad and launch controller. He already has a regular Quest launch controller and launch pad (which he has used to launch 18 mm motor powered rockets), and if his existing Quest launch controller will also work fine with the MicroMaxx igniters, he could launch just about any type of black powder motor powered model rocket (from MicroMaxx to "D" power) without having to set up multiple launch controllers. While I *think* the regular Quest launch controller will work fine with MicroMaxx igniters (it and the MicroMaxx launch controller both use a 9 volt battery), I'm not 100% sure, which is why I figured I should ask. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Jason,
The igniters furnished with all the MicroMaxx motors I have purchased are very similar to the Estes solar igniter but without pyrogen on the bridge wire. They do in fact work just fine with an ordinary Estes or Quest handheld launch controller. Presuming the "EU vendor" to which you refer supplies the same igniters, they should interoperate well with what your friend already has.

The igniters look like the old MPC ones. Which had no problems using the Estes controller so the Quest one should be fine.
