With the new Estes screw type retainers, you need to use a stand 1 size smaller (13 mm for 18 mm tubes), insert a spent motor casing backwards into the rocket, screw on the retainer, and slide the stand up into it. That way you can keep the retainer with the rocket (Easy for me to loose).

That is a GREAT tip. Thanks. I love the screw-on retainers (I even put together an Alpha VI using one and my next Nova Payloader will have one as well) but I also like the little mini-porta-pad stands.

Wow, sweet collection. Nice display. I have rockets under beds, in closets on tops of shelves, a few I don't care much about subject to the Louisiana humidity out in the garage on a top shelf. I really wish I had room to make a display like that.

I also like the tip on the screw on retainers. I'll need to try that.

I have built rockets strewn on two areas of the floor, a bookshelf, a small shelf over my build table, a kitchen shelf...
LCO/RC Sandy is very appreciative of your ingenuity, and I foresee emulating it.
