All Inclusive most certainly does NOT equal sucks depending on what you want to do.
I actually have ZERO interest in seeing the ruins or any of that other JUNK.
What I DO have interest in while on vacation is being treated like royalty, which this first-class resort did to near perfection.
Lobster/Filet/top-shelf drinks and a poolside/oceanside room are where it's at in my book. My GF had already seen all the ruins down there before, so I don't have to suffer through what I would find painstakingly BORINGGGGG.

The ONLY way to do the area in my book IS the AI way.

I never had ANY intention to 'belt' that dolphin. The lunkhead photographer wanted me to make a fist, which I found ridiculous. About the only thing I would ever do to the snoot of one of those magnificent creatures would be to give it a gentle "honk", which I did.

I'm just messin' with ya....

So the photographer wanted you to give a fist pump eh... and you listened to him?? LOL

Now, what WOULD have been funny is if the dolphin would have shat on you...

Given you a little dose of your own medicine... LOL

Have a good one! OL JR

So you're pretty much going to spend 2x your annual YORF budget on a week of phun!

Heh, not for Christmas. Hoping to go to the condo in Fort Myers Beach for Christmas. The Packers play Tampa Bay in TB on 12/21. Would be great to hit that game.

Some more pics.
Next year we are thinking of going to Captiva Island, Florida instead of Mexico.

Captiva is cool. Our family condo is close by on Fort Myers Beach. I actually like the beach on FMB better than Sanibel/Captiva. Over there there's too many broken shells in the sand making it painful to walk barefoot unless you constantly look where you're walking.

I agree, Captiva isn't all that great. My brother liked it.

Ever been to Cabbage Key?

We are going to go to Captiva (maybe Sanibel) specifically due to all the shells on the beaches. Stayed there at South Seas Plantation as a child and showed the GF pictures. My girlfriend likes to collect unique shells.

The last few years we have switched to going to Playa Mujeres (a bit NE of Cancun) instead of Playa Del Carmen.

We are members of a Vacation Club and go to Secrets or Dreams resort (sister resorts about 100yds apart, you get use of both) a couple times a year.

Secrets is 100% children-free.

We last went back in September of 2020, and was only 25% capacity due to travel / resort restrictions because of COVID.
Headed back to Secrets Playa Mujeres in May for 10 nights. Private poolside-patio suite. Top-notch all the way.

Playa Mujeres is a bit pricier than going to Playa Del Carmen, but WELL worth it.
