2016: Obama's America
I don't get out to the movies much anymore but last Friday after work my bride and I went to see this documentary at the big Cinemark Legacy in Plano, Texas. I won't spoil the ending, but if you are between the ages of 18 and 118 and living in this country, you need to see this film.

Not made by some racist white republican, slave owning, white power zealot, Tea Party member (sarcasm off) ... nope, made by a Hollywood [LIBERAL] who produced Schindler's list, and other left of center movies and documentaries...

Someone who is 17-3/4 now will be old enough to vote in November.
Here is the imdb link for the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2247692/ Essentially nobody is seeing this film: Gross $141,637 (USA) (5 August 2012) $135,228 (USA) (29 July 2012) $80,134 (USA) (22 July 2012) $31,610 (USA) (15 July 2012) CSPAN aired a discussion on Coolidge today that was interesting for fiscal conservatives of all parties. Even Dean-D-VT was on board. Last edited by Jerry Irvine : 08-22-2012 at 01:25 PM. |

You are correct. I missed that point at first and thought you were making reference to some obscure internet lingo. But when did age, nationality or vital signs ever make any difference to the Dems? |

Sometimes the "terms of engagement" tell you more about a President than anything else.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/22/us/na....html?hpt=hp_t2 "The first man killed in the mission -- which the U.S. official said was code-named Operation Neptune Spear -- was the Kuwaiti courier who had worked for bin Laden. He was shot dead after a brief gunfight in a guest house. From that point on, it is believed no other shots were fired at the U.S. forces, the official said -- which contrasts with early U.S. government reports describing the operation as a "firefight." The troops then moved into the compound's three-story main building, where they shot and killed the courier's brother. As they went upstairs and around barricades, one of bin Laden's sons rushed at them and was killed. Neither of these men had weapons either on them or nearby, the official said. The U.S. official said that the team then entered the third-floor room where bin Laden was, along with his Yemeni wife and several young children. The al Qaeda leader was moving, possibly toward one of the weapons that were in the room, when he was shot, first in the chest and then in the head. He never had a gun in hand but posed an imminent threat, according to the U.S. official. Bin Laden's body was flown to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, then in the North Arabian Sea. After DNA tests and further confirmations of his identity, he was buried at sea within 12 hours of his killing "in conformance with Islamic precepts and practices," White House press secretary Jay Carney said." It looks to me there was a policy of killing all witnesses to an overt assassination. On a PR level they overstated the threat and lied about the resistance offered. Jerry |

Jerry, are you saying that those who commit terrorism, in any way, shape or form, should not be taken out? That the support group (family included), of said terrorists is sarcosanct, armed or not? You are full of it.

Bin Laden would have been of greater value if captured and interrogated. Mr. Obama has made good use of drones to kill a few Al-qaeda bad guys and a lot of civilians. Kind of expected when you use anti-tank missiles to kill dudes. The real problem here is he is eliminating intelligence assets every time we kill these guys (and making more enemies every time a civilian is inured or killed).
It's great that our kids are farther from harm because of these drones, but we can do better.
