Default Ducte Fan A-4B excellent!

I've been following this guys thread, he did excellent ultra light construction using an external bypass ducted fan to make a full fuse, vertical takeoff A-4B. I've done a rocket and electric profile version in a similar size, but his effort is really special. If you read through the last few pages you can see the contruction of this latest version. He's now working on some in-flow vanes to help prevent the roll on liftoff due to torque since the tail surfaces dont' have sufficient authority till it's moving. I've seen people do the external bypass method on space shuttle ducted fan models and it's really hard to see in the air, this is no different. Really nice.

Who needs silly, unthrottlable model rocket motors anyway? One of the guys I know dreams of developing a throttlable hybrid for a scratch built ME 163. Such craziness.

This is a really neat build.
Amazing what you can do with micro R/C gear and Electric Ducted Fans compared to when I first got into R/C in 1978 with clunky huge Kraft, Sanwa, and Futaba equipment.
What we called 'micro' then is MASSIVE now.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !
