RCfoam was the only us importer, anyone else bought from them, but they all get it from selitec in germany and that's the problem. All of the other foams have issues in working, gluing, delaminating of paper, needing extra reinforcing etc.

Thought that all the 'real' Depron came from Germany anyways...that's what the larger box that my last order seems to indicate. Hmm, an Amish guy using German Depron....seems right.

Hope you find something else workable, Frank! Having to redesign kits around a material that went 'disco' is not fun, as I found out back in '98!

Besides RCFoam, didn't someplace called 'foamy depot' or such also sell Depron? Thought I'd gotten some from them, but that's been at least 5 or 6 years though.

I've gotten pretty good response so far, so I've marked my site with remaining quantities of kits available that I can build with the foam that I have. The Mach 2 is sold out, Ikarus, X-15-3 Delta, DynaSoar, HL-10, and X-24 are all sold out., the others still have 3-10 each. Supposedly the rc casings will be mailed by aerotech Friday.

Default Midwest Cellfoam 88

Midwest products sales a product called Cellfoam 88. It is very similar to Depron that I used to import 15 years ago myself but I thought I got if from Denmark. When working at Midwest over ten years ago now I helped get this product into the Midwest line of products. I can't remember where we got it at the moment, but maybe it would be useable for your needs and you might be able to get it from Midwest in bulk to same money. Sheet size from the factory is at least twice the width if memory serves me.

Tower Hobbies currently sales all three thicknesses of the product.

I've seen this in the local hobby shop but I thought it seemed floppy, not as stiff as depron but it's worth a second look.

I've run out of bt-80 tubing for the X-15-3 Delta kit, but I re-worked it slightly to work with the 2" tubing and mid mounted the wing, I think it still looks pretty good and flies great, calling it the Hypersonic II:

I've also worked out a drop ship deal for the E-6 RC motor reloads, shipping is $4.50 for up to six 3-packs, these must ship separately and go usps ground. $4.50 for each additional six for shipping. There is a Rocket Motor tab and you can order from the web site.

As for kits I have a good stock of the Interceptor/tube based Arc-Light, SST and Hypersonic.

Spent some time yesterday working out a way to make a kit of a tube based Interceptor that doesn't use too much foam. Came out just over 11 oz rtf and flies quite nicely. Kit is simple except you have to cut the wing slot/fit it yourself after gluing the tubes together, but it is pre-marked for you. Not hard, just take your time.

I've updated my Hypersonic to have a conical nose with cardstock canopy and a mid mounted wing, for a bit more scale like look.
