And that Boren guy, holy cow! Only a rocket nut could pack these big boxes with so much unexpected fun. There are kits, tools, parachutes, parts, parts, and more parts. Lots of laser cut fin sets, nose cones, etc. Really a hoot.

I was absolutely thrilled to get the Red Nova but the kit that tickled me the most (I built it the night I got home, LOL) was an Estes Zombie. I wouldn't have ever bought that kit because it normally comes in a launch set I don't need, but for whatever reason that kit just really made me laugh. Thrilled to have it.

As for the Red Nova, Buzz and I are in the same club so it will be a race to see who gets theirs off the pad first, LOL.

Anyway, my thanks again to Estes and to John for all the thought and kindness that goes into these boxes.

Steve

I'd like to contribute to the Cannon Auction by purchasing a Mystery Box!

I'm pretty sure you can get one next year at NARAM 60, Pueblo, Colorado, August 4-10, 2018.

Gus, will you be attending? I'll be there, pockets-ful of cash in hand.

My wife and I drove down to Pueblo last month to fly with the John Boren and the good folks of S.C.O.R.E. Most other clubs were forced to cancel launches due to widespread fire bans in Colorado. It's a long drive for me but it's a great place to fly.

I'm really looking forward to NARAM 60.

Now that is great news, I have been needing to pay a visit to my rental house in Pueblo West anyhow..
NARAM sounds like the right time.

Default Coming Soon!

Red Nova is now listed on the Estes website as "Coming Soon"! Along with two MPR rockets - D/E powered Astron Explorer, lots of body tubes to finish!, and a PSII Super Big Bertha. I feel an order to AC Supply is immanent...

I finished building my Estes Red Nova kit tonight.

I added a Semroc ejection baffle, Estes 24mm motor retainer instead of the motor hook and some additional nose weight beyond what is included in the kit.

I plan on using a Jolly Logic Chute release with the model.
