Those hobby mitre boxes have short walls. You could cut BT-5 and maybe BT-20, but anything bigger and the saw won't seat in the slots. A regular carpentry mitre box might do if the saw has fine enough teeth to make a clean cut once you get about half way down into the tube.

Liket that signature, Foamy.
I'm a card carrying member of that club.
MUCH more entertaining to be a grouch than one of those yay-hoos that sees a silver lining in everything !

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Thanks. A line from a recent Dilbert strip: "Optimism is just another word for disappointment."

But seriously, dining, cocktails and bartenders used to be a lot better and the gov't was a lot smaller.

It would not do to have a rocket with Peyronie's disease. If you end up having to cut it, here is my reliable way to cut tubes.

1. Slide a coupler inside the tube to support it while you are making the cut.

2. Use a sharp knife. This is as good a time as any to use a new blade.

3. I used to buy stamps by the roll. I wrap the waxed paper backing strip around the tube as a guide for the knife.

4. Cut slowly and do not try to do it in a single pass. I find that holding the knife stationary and rotating the tube gives me the best results.

5. Push the coupler into the end of the tube until it is even with the freshly cut end and gently sand the end.

6. Done.
