Default Bad news and now Good news (ESTES)

I'm hoping this isn't bad news for ESTES.

John Boren said it will be weeks before they know the impact.

Hobbico bankruptcy statement reveals massive debt

Bankruptcy judge OKs Horizon's purchase of Hobbico's RC business
Tue, 04/03/2018 - 7:00am | Ben Zigterman

http://www.news-gazette.com/news/lo...c-business.html *ALSO*:

Reading the above-linked articles (and viewing the embedded video in the first one), the third article (the "News Gazette" one) said:

"Horizon is buying Hobbico's Great Planes and Tower Hobbies divisions, along with its Axial and Arrma brands...Also on Monday, a bankruptcy judge approved a separate $7 million sale of Hobbico's Colorado-based model-rocket subsidiary, Estes, to an organization called The Langford Group." I wonder if John Langford (the long-time NAR and FAI scale champion) runs, or is involved in, The Langford Group?

John and Ellis Langford have indeed won the auction for Estes Rockets.

They are NOT, however, The Langford Group. That is a real estate company out of Baltimore. The reporter in Champaign did not do a very good job and keeps repeating the mistake in their recent articles. The entity that the Langfords formed to make the bid is called, 'Estes Industries, LLC'.

*SIGH* It's "wonderful" how some things never change (like how the TV stations in Miami kept calling the Commercial Titan III/Intelsat VI launch the "private Space Shuttle" launch--we've come along a long way [down] indeed from the days when ABC's Frank Reynolds, after reporting that James Brady had died during the Reagan assassination attempt, then learned that his report was incorrect, and shouted, on live TV, "G#^^%*& it, get it right!!!") But I am happy to learn that John and Ellis Langford won the auction for Estes Rockets--we'll have managers who understand and love the hobby (imagine if Barry Tunick had bought it back... [I'd rather not] :-) ).

In the 80's a lot of colleges and universities with journalism schools started emphasizing PR and marketing, moving said programs from their business schools to their journalism schools, or making joint programs. Either way, I feel (being a journalism major --didn't graduate) that this damaged or diluted what were very good journalism programs.
