Default Estes Tilt-A-Pad clone for sale

I found an old picnic table top under my deck that was made of redwood.

Redwood is normally fairly hard to find around here.

It was pretty badly weathered but it was 4/4 sized wood (a fill 1" thick) so I planed it down and found some LOVELY dark reddish brown wood underneath. It cleaned up real pretty!

I always wanted one but never had the money to get one from Estes, (they were a WHOLE $2.00 each back then!!!).

http://www.ninfinger.org/%7Esven/ro...64/64est50.html

So I made up a plywood pattern and used up all of the redwood.

I made ten!...I got carried away a bit...

I made two styles. One has the 3.75" base like the original and one has a 4" base (I think it looks a tiny bit better). Like the original they don't come with a deflector plate or launch rod.

BTW, they are fully assembled.

Anyway, if anybody wants one for display or even to launch rockets...yea, I know you could make one real easy and there are much better launch pads available but...it's a nostagia thing.

PM me if anybody wants one.

I have a few of the pads left for $25 plus $5 shipping.

I guess somebody wanted an original one pretty bad!

It was pretty simple. There is just a hole drilled in the center of the pad that the rod goes into.

It's an old design. It first appeared in the 1964 Estes Catalog.
