Although I didn't plan it, the Viking 2 clone would be my last of the day. (I must be getting old.) E9-4, just like the last time, and the same flight as last time. By this point in the day, the winds were getting stronger, the clouds thicker, and my nose runnier. I hung around for another hour to catch some high power flights, but I'd had enough abuse.

Love the new camera, but the burst isn't as friendly as my big Olympus. (I bought it for the GPS function, so all is good.) Next time I think I'll get back to the Olympus. Even without the screen working it's more user friendly.

(New camera, so I'm in a learning curve.) The good news is that I found two missing rockets while I was hunting for mine.

It's Carter's home-brew version of a Shrox bird. I forget what he called it, but it had something to do with the skewers on the fin tips. It was one of the birds I found after I found mine.

I really like your Viking 6, too bad about the fin popping off, looks like an easy enough fix though.

On the pad? It's for igniters and launch detritus. A garbage bucket! We're flying in a field that produces food. Wouldn't be good to bit into an ear of corn and find an Estes igniter.

Ah, I figured it was something like that - but one can never be too sure when you're involved.

There's an on-site Porta-Potty for that. Besides, it's too risky in winds like these. (Found that out the hard way. )
