There may (still) be indigenous Indian model rockets--in a "Space India" issue from the late 1980s (it's ISRO's "in-house" magazine), there was a photograph and a brief mention of primary school students launching model rockets (at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre [VSSC] if memory serves), and the rocket and launcher definitely looked Indian in origin--unpainted, simple in design, but rugged. Maybe by now there are Indian-made scale kits of the Rohini sounding rockets (the RH-200, RH-300 Mk II, RH-560, etc.) and the SLV-3, ASLV, PSLV, and GSLV satellite launch vehicles?
