Well, at least one person here understands hot dogs.

Last I checked, Koegel's still ships to anywhere...EVEN Chicago....
NOTHING compares to a Koegel's Vienna !
Not Nathan's, and CERTAINLY NOT Hebrew national !

If it smells WORSE THAN SWAMP-A$$ FEET, ya don't eat it.
The ONLY supposed 'foodstuff' WORSE than Kraut is Kim-chee. That stuff belongs LEFT IN THE GROUND to continue ROTTING in the clay pot FOREVER.

What, does anyone like Coney Island hot dogs? They are in Detroit, MI.

There is one in 158 Southbridge Street, Worcester, MA 01608

I like spicy mustard on my kraut dog, on a top load bun. Hebrew National is good, but the Ballpark Angus is soo tasty.

There was a Coney Island-style hot dog place in my home town when I was growing up. You got five hot dogs, covered with chili sauce and grilled onions, for $1. You could also get four similarly-dressed hamburgers for a dollar. Both were really, really, really good.

Hmmm - do they have any in Grand Rapids or Muskegon? I'll try one at Naram

When at NARAM if a choice is offered between "Flint" or "Detroit" style Coney Dogs, try the Flint Style. WAY better than Detroit style. Flint has a spicy finely ground burger sauce and Detroit is just basic chili. Both topped with Mustard and onions unless you order a different way. Not likely to find Kraut at a Coney Island here, and some restaurants flat out REFUSE to top any hot dogs/coneys with Ketchup, which is the way it should be. As Clint Eastwood said in one of the Dirty Harry pictures, "NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, puts Ketchup on a hot dog, fatso !"

I feel that way myself. It's unnatural. But, hey. To each their own. The Missus uses ketchup and I don't understand. I've told her she must have had issues with her upbringing. That doesn't fly real well.

Looked up the Chicago and Flint style 'dogs. Chicago seems a bit much, but heck, I'd give either one a shot. They didn't get popular for no reason.

We have a curious thing here in DC called a "Half Smoke." I don't know why it's called that. In Philly they'd call it a hot sausage. Typical street vendor fare, but they are good with mustard and sauerkraut.

That hot sausage is usually a Sabrett sausage. Have 'em here in AC and other parts of So. Jersey. You are right, good with kraut and mustard.
