Of course I haven't updated the forum software in 8 years either. ;-)

Yeah, I threw the shanter at the fan.

I was wondering why I had an uptick in new users here. I really haven't read TRF in a number of years so had no clue all this was going on.

It's not that I have/had anything against TRF, I just no longer have the time to peruse all these different forums like I used to.

The first time you see a forum word association game, you'll have your answer.

It just occurred to me that I have paid for a lot of the other message boards and such that I use. If you want to put up a donations box, I'll gladly hit it.

To each their own but that is without a doubt, the biggest waste of bandwidth ever posted to the internet.

Jerry mentioned rmr and I have to say that I miss it. There were like 5 regulars there named Bob. Bob W., Bob K., Bob C. they kept me confused much of the time. Crazy as it got at times, it was a pretty neat place in it's day. I found it by accident on Christmas morning of 1996 or 1997, right after we had finished opening presents. I was surfing "rockets" and found the Ninfinger home page and clicked a little blue link, rmr. A few minutes later I clicked another link and stumbled across a guy named Darrell Mobley and he was working on a new site he called ROL. He was setting up something called an auction page.

We exchanged rapid fire emails for about 30 minutes and from that I got hooked on internet rocketry. In one way it seems like yesterday and in another it was a lifetime ago. Before long we were pretty good friends and between Verna & I we spent many hours on his site and it took us to many others. That's the way this hobby normally is, people helping others learn about the hobby, sharing ideas, experiences and sometimes, it's about rocketry too.

It seems strange now that so many of the guys from back then are gone. Eric, Darrell, Carl and others. It may sound silly but Verna mentioned this afternoon that she always looked forward to Darrell turning on the snow flakes on RP when it got close to Christmas.

The things you remember on a cold winter evening...
