Default Nice Picture of Orville Carlisle

I just picked up a copy of the April 1958 issue of American Modeler because it had a great picture on the cover of Orville Carlisle launching a Rock-A-Chute. I'd never seen this photo before.

The article is by G. Harry Stine and is similar to his article in Popular Mechanics from 8 months earlier.

Cover and article are attached below.

Enjoy,

Steve

Thanks for posting, Steve.
Very nice vintage pics.
Looking at those old ads almost transports me back to the 3 vintage hobby shops I frequented in my youth.
I can still smell the AeroGloss fumes from every time I walked in the door !

I love the old ads too. I flew control line back in the 70's and had a Sterling Ringmaster (among others) and one of my frields had the Yak-9. Mmmmmm. AeroGloss!
