MMI was a new invention. It was consumer funded R&D. Interestingly it worked pretty well considering the 2014 outcome!

Nice find Danny, thanks for sharing. Those look so good, they should be in the Seattle Museum of Flight! They have a tower, but I don't think there was a complete starter set. I have a few pics of the display from just a few weeks ago if you're interested.
