Default Estes rocket ID

What is the name of the rocket Vern Estes is holding in this old catalog?

Looks to be some sort of BT-60 reduced to BT-50 home-brew mess.
The fins look to be some Red-Max like pattern way before that kit was designed.
The balsa adapter appears to be the same as used in the Astron Cobra kit.
Other than in this pic, I have never seen it.

Yep, I was thinking it was a home brew but you never know. I have a kit or 2 that was never in a catalog.

Do you have photos handy of those kits? Probably a fair amount of interest here to see some kits that a good number of us might have never seen.

Based on the caption below the picture it indicates that it might have a cluster of engine since he is discussing cluster ignition technologies and in 1967 terms to boot. I was thinking that it may be a kit from one of the other companies around that time. I was using the fin shape to try and figure what kit is was, but no luck.

I strongly doubt that you would ever see a competitor's rocket in ANY Estes publication, let alone one as widely distributed as their catalog.

Long John Silver and possibly the Mini-Brute Hornet.

I believe the mini-brute Hornet was in either the '73 or '74 catalog...it was only around in one catalog.
