Very interesting that it must have passed through Betty Piester's hands.
How about creating a pattern and recording its other particulars (the gore colors, fabric type [someone at a fabric store could identify the type & weave], shroud line length and type, etc.)? That and a copy of the 'chute instructions (if the instructions for the "sewing required" one are online somewhere, or if someone has them) would comprise sellable "Retro-Repro" items!

The chute has no instructions. It is pre-sewn/made.
I might post a pic but not going to hassle with dimensions, etc.
I believe it has red/white alternating panels.
Will check it tomorrow.

It was Nylon, and the flyer states they purchased them. Probably from Centuri:

Kind of like Gleda Estes hand rolling the original parallel wound BT-30 tubes.

Thank you! If it's a flat, circular 'chute, just the canopy diameter (or radius), plus the number of gores (panels) and their colors, and the shroud line length, would enable anyone to make one.

Did the Centuri version have 8 shroud lines plus a centre line?

None of the Enerjet fabric chutes I have use a center shroud line. Sounds like those may be military excess flare chutes.

Well, the Estes one has a centre line. This is getting more and more interesting. Sounds like maybe Vern visited a military surplus store at some time, saw the 'chutes, and decided to give them a try. I have one of them around here somewhere. I'll post a photo as soon as I dig it up.

Here is the Estes silk parachute. You can clearly see the centre line (which is just a length of heavy cord). These are very well made, by the way.
