A long launch rod or rail would also help lot, like 6 feet of rod or 6 to 8 feet of rail. If you can do a rail, mention it and i'll describe a very good rail lug to use that slides very easy, unlike too many rail buttons that have binding issues.

I was asked for more info about the lugs I like to use for rails. They are plastic "H" beams sold by Plastruct or Evergreen Scale Models. 3/8" wide works with most of the common rails. I have also used 1/4" for some scale models like the Space Shuttle, but I made my own custom rail with a narrower slot so it could use a smaller "H" lug.

Here is a pic of a model with one, and some scrap H beams to the right.

Usually the upper lug is a lot shorter than that one, the lower lug sort of long.

They are a loose slide fit. Side gusts do not tend to make the lug bind to the rail like buttons do.

On my shuttle model, the lower "H" lug is visible in this pic, just above the ET Aft Dome:

More pics of the shuttle here but that is the only one showing the lug.
